The Sokos Hotel Viru is a large, modern, purpose-built property visable from various points of the city. The spacious lobby features a long wooden reception desk and a generous, comfortable seating area. There is a bar located on a slightly raised area to the left of the entrance. The medium sized guest rooms are divided into business rooms and standard rooms. The decor in both types of rooms is modern and simple, with white-painted walls and mahogoney furniture. The en suite bathrooms are likewise simple and in good condition. The hotel's restaurant - "Merineitsi" - is located on the second floor and serves a wide range of European dishes. There are also two bars: the Marco Polo, and the Bogart, a whiskey bar.
