The Scandic Palace Hotel dates back to 1930 and was completely reconstructed in 1989. It is a majestic, symmetrical brown stone building with high, narrow windows. The lobby is compact and L-shaped. A bar at the far end of the reception desk leads into a comfortable bistro. Though small, the lobby has a pleasant atmosphere and is popular with hotel guests for relaxing. The medium sized guest rooms feature traditional décor, with grey and red carpets, dark floral patterns on the bed linen and pine furniture, creating a classy ambience. All are in very good condition, as are the bathrooms. Many have beautiful views of the old city of Tallinn. The Palace restaurant is situated adjacent to the lobby. Decorated in a smart, trend-setting style, it is a popular venue for both locals and guests. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine and supplemented by a wide selection of wines.
